Challenge 1: SnapseedThe Challenge
Welcome campers! To kick-off your summer camp adventure, you will use Snapseed to edit at least one original photograph through enhancements, modifications and effects. You will then share your edited photographs on the camp blog as well as your reflections on the experience. Since we will start summer camp together in person, we will go out to the Burley Nature Preserve and Farm (outdoor classroom and garden) to capture photographs of the lush plant life and diverse wildlife. Time will be tight outside. When you hear your counselor’s whistle, return to camp headquarters immediately, lest you be assigned to potato peelin’ duty for the remainder of camp! The Steps
The Tool Snapseed is a free, intuitive photo editor. It provides simple options to do one-step edits, but also allows you to do advanced manipulations on specific portions of a photograph. You can fine tune the color, contrast, brightness, add frames or stickers, and do Instagram-like effects. You can save your edited photographs to your camera roll or share with a variety of apps. The Possibilities Students can enhance photographs for use in printed projects, e-books, non-fiction articles, etc. The app works with any image in the Camera Roll, so images can be taken with the camera or saved from an online source. Further Exploration You can take the images that you edit in Snapseed and use them in many other apps, including those you will use in other challenges. Try editing the photos you take for Challenge #2 in Snapseed before using them in Pic Collage, or edit photos to use in SonicPics (Challenge #7), Skitch (Challenge #4), or any app that uses photos! |
